Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Velvet Crest collects when you visit velvetcrest.co or place an order, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it. The site is operated by ASTRALIS HORIZONS LLC, trading as Velvet Crest, at 20290 Park Lake View Dr Apt 10206, New Caney, TX 77357.
What we collect
When you place an order we ask for your name, your email address and the address the parcel should go to. If you give us a phone number, we pass it to the carrier so they can reach you about a delivery, and use it for nothing else. When you email us, we keep your message and our reply.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we never ask for a date of birth, a social security number, or any other identifier we have no use for. If you send us one anyway, we delete it.
What we never see
Payment is handled by our payment provider on its own secure pages. Your full card number, its expiry date and its security code are entered there; they are never sent to this site and never stored by us. We are told whether the payment succeeded and the last few digits of the card, which is what lets us match a payment to an order and refund it later.
What your browser keeps
Your shopping cart is stored in your own browser on this device. It is not sent to us until you place an order, and clearing your browsing data clears it. We do not use advertising cookies, and there are no third-party tracking pixels on this site.
What is recorded automatically
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs of requests to this site: the IP address a request came from, the time, the page asked for and the browser's user-agent string. Those logs exist to keep the site available and to investigate abuse, and are held for a short period before being discarded.
Why we use it
- To print, pack, ship and track your order
- To send you an order confirmation, a shipping confirmation and a tracking number
- To answer your emails about an order, a return or a product
- To recognise and stop fraudulent orders
- To meet our tax and accounting obligations
We do not send marketing email unless you have asked us to, and anything we do send carries an unsubscribe link that works on the first click.
Who we share it with
Only the businesses needed to complete your order, and each of them only gets what it needs: the print and fulfilment partner that makes and packs the item, the carrier that delivers it, our payment provider, and our email provider. Each is required to use your information for that service alone. We may also disclose information where the law compels us to, or where we need to defend a legal claim.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for seven years because tax law requires it. Support emails are kept for two years. Server logs are held briefly by our hosting provider and then discarded.
Your choices
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@velvetcrest.co from the address you ordered with and we will reply within one business day. We may have to keep the record of a completed order even after a deletion request, because tax law requires it — if that applies we will tell you exactly what we kept and why.
If you live in a state with its own consumer privacy statute — California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and a growing number of others — these are rights you hold under law rather than as a courtesy, and we will not charge you differently or give you a worse service for using them.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email support@velvetcrest.co and we will delete it.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS, so what you send us is encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, which is why we hold as little as we can for as long as we need it and no longer.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The version published on this page is the version in force, and it governs the information we hold from the day it appears here.
